About Shanghai

With a population estimated at 20 million, Shanghai is the largest port in the world, and the most important commercial, cultural, financial, industrial center in China. It has a special charm, thanks in large part to the local exoticism given by the foreign influence of the '20s and '30s. A tourist who visits Shanghai (also known as "Paris of the East" and "The Queen of the Orient") for the first time, clearly gets a different experience.
Among the attractions offered by Shanghai, you can visit the Mandarin Garden (Yuyuan), the old city – which can be found on the left side of the Yellow River Maul, the commercial streets of Nanjing Lu and Huaihai Lu, the Jade Buddha Temple and, of course, Pudong, Shanghai's modern side, where is the third tallest TV tower in the world – the Oriental Pearl.
In a decade, the city has become a first class economic center, and even China's financial center. Currently, the city contributes to about 20-25% of the national budget (132 billion dollars), with a GDP per capita of 7,000 Euros.
